DOCUMENT THE HUMAN STORIES…

Letters From The Pandemic Project is a historical documentation art project seeking to preserve the tales of our time.

Reported widely are the numbers, facts and sensationalized stories of the pandemic of 2020. But what is it like to be here, now? What do you want future generations to learn about your experience? Imagine if we had a window into the people who lived through the Black Plague or Spanish Flu hundreds of years ago. How valuable would that be now?

That’s the idea. I started this project with those future generations in mind. Imagine a future student, a thousand years from now researching our time. What should they know about us? What will the history books leave out?

The project is open to anyone, anywhere. Any age or background. It is a collaborative message in a bottle. Storytelling, art, music, poetry and writing. When submitting we ask our participants to interpret a letter in any form they choose. We encourage vulnerability, humor, passion and heart.

Submissions are optionally anonymous and by choice of the author of the piece or art. The goal of this project is to encourage vulnerability. Letters submitted will be sent to the Smithsonian for their pandemic archive.
