From Script To Screen: Woodstock Institute

Client: Woodstock Institute
Production Company: Fig Media

Leading a film from script to screen in the documentary space requires excellent pre-production. I want that all my collaborators to be on board with the vision before the cameras start to roll. I am always amazed by how success begins on the blank page. When it comes to life, it feels like magic. This project was inspired by Ava Duvernay’s documentary The 13th. Here you will see the mood boards I created alongside the finished film screenshots. This client was interested in capturing the histories of it’s founding members and position them next to the present team. Woodstock’s work was critical in Chicago tackling racist red-lining practices. Their data tracking still aids in critical policy change today. These legends are endlessly inspiring. I am so pleased with how this project came to life. This client is currently using all the materials we generated for the project in multiple ways. Proving that excellent planning pays dividends in quality repurposing for non-profits and community storytelling.
